How RankByBid works
Choose the move. See the rank.
RankByBid is a deterministic paid leaderboard. There are no judges, votes, prizes, or hidden scoring systems: higher completed totals rank first, and earlier payment wins a tie.
- 01
Enter one public identity
Use a company domain, product URL, public profile, or X @handle. RankByBid resolves its public name, description, destination, favicon, or profile image before payment.
- 02
Choose a whole-dollar total
New positions start at $5. Use the $1 controls to move from $5 up to the supported $999,999 ceiling; the projected rank updates immediately as the total changes.
- 03
Complete payment with Polar
The home page already shows the selected public total, projected rank, and amount due. Polar then collects email, billing, tax, and payment details; a signed paid-order event activates the move.
- 04
Build a public competitive record
The directory records current rank, verified total, primary identity, click totals, and completed move history. The payment buys this deterministic digital result—not a promise of traffic or duration.
- 05
Return when a rival passes you
Use the same canonical identity and original Polar checkout email, choose a new total above your current one, and pay only the difference.
Why the product can compound
A normal leaderboard records an outcome. RankByBid creates a visible competitive decision: move above a rival, take the lead, defend a position, or return when another contender passes you. Every completed move updates the same public record.
What the payment buys
A deterministic leaderboard position, a public directory identity, first-party outbound click totals, and an entry in the public move history—not equity, a prize, an investment, guaranteed traffic, or ownership of the site. Another completed takeover can move the listing down at any time.
Built independently
RankByBid is an independent personal project by @victordascencao. Its $1 total controls, projected-rank pricing, resolved public identities, first-party click methodology, and public move receipts form one original product system.
Click methodology
Every project and social destination opens through a first-party RankByBid redirect. Obvious bots, crawlers, previews, prefetches, and prerenders are excluded. Repeat clicks to the same destination from the same browser are counted once within a ten-minute window. The public total measures outbound directory clicks only; it is not a promise of unique people, conversions, or commercial results. RankByBid does not use this counter for cross-site tracking.
Contact and launch status
The public board is being prepared for launch. Paid moves activate only after the owner connects the merchant account, publishes a monitored operator address, and completes the legal and payment test gates. Until then, no payment can be taken.
Privacy
Public records contain the contender identity, rank transition, verified total, and timestamp—not payer email, card data, or billing details. Polar processes card and billing data; RankByBid receives the signed order and checkout email for fulfillment, ownership, fraud control, support, and required record keeping. Removal requests may anonymize a public identity while preserving non-personal board integrity.
